Translating to cows, these hand-beaded earrings are inspired by the Southern African tradition Ilobola, a ceremony that takes place between the 2 families & before marriage. These earrings are called cow earrings because in African culture, well-fed & abundant cows represent a wealthy family, this being important as should the men in the family wish to take a bride, they would have to pay lobola which is a bride gift given to the bride’s family to honor & thank them for raising such a beautiful woman who will become a wife to their son. These earrings are made in celebration of culture, love & union.
